Deserted, early in the morn. Macau's ol' red-light district. Coincidentally has buildings with red shutters. Some scenes in the flick Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom were shot here.
Today we're leaving SanVa Hotel (a one hundred year old crumbling hostel that sits on this street) for a more swanky one, something my parents deserve. It was fun though letting them experience our usual accommodation when backpacking!

I suppose those red shutters are for effect. The customer would feel like an emperor with his concubine for the night. It's more Zhang Yimou than Indy Jones. :)

"The customer would feel like an emperor with his concubine for the night." - Haha! Yeah!

Wow, really weird how Beijing is tolerating Macau as a city of sin.
And how come this isn't in any of those tourist maps? :))

Hi! How was your stay there and how much does it cost per day? Tnx! :)

Hey there! We really had a great time in Macau. Accommodation, food, transpo are a bit pricey though. Hotels can range from P1,000-P7,000 depending on your preference. Food's about P150-200 a meal. We mostly took the bus so we can save on cabs.
You can enter the luxurious hotels (The Venetian, Grand Lisboa) and wander around Senado Square for free! Museums ask for minimal admission fee.

Thanks for your reply. How about the SanVa Hotel? How was your stay there and the price? I heard a lot of negative feedbacks for it. :)

SanVa Hotel is a rundown place that hasn't been refurbished since the '20s! If you're on a tight budget, it may be your only option.
