Is that pond still used for holding and supplying water for the city today?
And does sitting water like that ever get toxic algae blooms?
I'm asking because here in New Zealand, some of our water holding ponds get blooms during the hot summer months. But when I travel to Ankor Wat and see their huge man made lakes, and now see this,I have to ask why they do not seem to?

Hi Bonzenti, yup there is a source. This pond is actually man-made. As described on its marker, underwater conduits used to convey water from reservoirs to this pond. Amazing because this was already utilized in the 1st century BC!
