Koh Samui

Koh Samui is located in the Gulf of Thailand (bordering the South China Sea in the Pacific Ocean). It is part of the Surat Thani province, and is only a two-hour express boat ride from Surat Thani's Ban Don Pier.

One of Koh Samui's sights, the Grandfather Rock.

It is one of Thailand's largest islands and it has been a backpacker's destination since the 1970s. For 350 THB each, a travel agent arranged a trip for us around Koh Samui. Tour includes a visit to: Wat Phra Yai (Big Buddha), Mummified Monk, Na Muang Falls, Grandmother and Grandfather Rock, and Monkey Show. Motorcycles can be hired also to tour around the island.

One of the three Buddha attractions of the island.

Monkey Show.

The Mummified Monk, Luang Pho Daend.

Koh Samui was great but I almost drowned there! Ack! Good thing my BF saw I was struggling and saved me!
